Microneedling with Radiofrequency (RF)

Morpheus8 - Microneedling and Radiofrequency (RF) Power Combo

When it comes to skin resurfacing treatments, there are several to choose from on the market. In fact, we carry many of them at Blue Spiral Medical Spa. The Morpheus8 is a new treatment that combines two independent forms of rejuvenation into one powerful combination.

Microneedling PLUS Radiofrequency! Yep, the Morpheus8 takes everything you love about microneedling and combines all those results with the additional benefit of radiofrequency.

Radiofrequency (RF) – what is it?

Radiofrequency (RF) energy is utilized in several medical and cosmetic procedures to heat tissue and promote collagen formation.

The skin’s structure is supported by the protein collagen, which can increase the skin’s suppleness and firmness.

A device that utilizes radiofrequency, or RF, emits radio waves to send energy to the deeper layers of the skin during skin tightening operations.

The radio waves’ energy raises the skin’s warmth, which can encourage collagen synthesis. Heat-induced contraction and tightening of the skin’s collagen fibers can help lift and firm the skin.

RF is utilized to treat several different areas of the body, including the face, neck, and stomach.

RF is considered a safe and effective treatment for improving sagging or loose skin appearance.

At Blue Spiral Medical Spa, we utilize radiofrequency to help our patients achieve maximum results, and the great news is that it requires no downtime. However, following the aftercare instructions provided by our aesthetic team will help to ensure the best possible results.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling (aka collagen induction therapy) is a popular minimally invasive cosmetic procedure involving fine needles to create a controlled “micro-injury” to the skin.

The procedure is designed to stimulate the production of collagen, a protein that helps maintain the skin’s structure and elasticity.

When the skin is injured, the body responds by repairing the damage and producing new collagen. This process can help to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and other skin imperfections.

Microneedling at a medical office is performed using an FDA-Cleared device consisting of fine medical-grade needles.

The needles are usually made of stainless steel or titanium and range in size from 0.5 to 2.5mm in length. During the procedure, the device is moved over the skin in a series of overlapping passes, creating tiny punctures (micro-injuries) on the skin’s surface.

One of the primary advantages of microneedling is that it is relatively painless and has minimal downtime.

The procedure usually takes between 30 and 60 minutes to complete and can be performed on most areas of the body, including the face, neck, and décolletage.

Some people may experience mild redness and swelling after the treatment, but these side effects typically resolve within a few days.

Microneedling is generally safe for all skin types and can be used to treat a variety of skin concerns. Some of the conditions that may be improved with microneedling include:

Fine lines and wrinkles: Microneedling can help to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, which help to plump and firm the skin.

Acne scars: Microneedling may help to reduce the appearance of acne scars by promoting the production of new skin cells and collagen.

Hyperpigmentation: Microneedling can help to lighten dark spots and uneven skin tone by increasing the production of melanin, the pigment that gives skin its color.

Large pores: Microneedling may help to reduce the appearance of large pores by improving skin texture and tone.

Sun damage: Microneedling can help to improve the appearance of sun-damaged skin by stimulating the production of new skin cells and collagen.

After the treatment, it is important to follow any aftercare instructions provided by your provider to ensure optimal results. This may include avoiding sun exposure, using a gentle cleanser, and applying moisturizer and sunscreen. Most people can resume their normal skincare routine within a few days of the treatment.

Overall, microneedling is a safe and effective way to improve the appearance of the skin and address a variety of skin concerns.

Microneedling and Radiofrequency (RF) Combined

Morpheus8 takes both of these amazing treatments and combines them into one power-packed treatment.

During a Morpheus8 treatment, a device with tiny needles is used to create the “micro-injuries” in the skin mentioned above.

Radiofrequency energy is then delivered through the needles, heating the deeper layers of the skin and stimulating collagen production.

The heat also helps to tighten and tone the skin, resulting in a smoother, more youthful-looking appearance.

Morpheus8 treatments are generally well tolerated and have little downtime, with some patients experiencing mild redness or swelling following the procedure.

The full effects of the treatment continue to develop over several weeks or months as the collagen continues to grow and the skin continues to heal.
